A modern academy in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking to appoint a Science Teacher to join its Science faculty from September. This is a full-time teaching role within a structured department that focuses on delivering clear, consistent science education across the secondary years.

You will be responsible for delivering Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, teaching a balanced curriculum covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics topics. Lessons will include a mixture of theory-based teaching and practical laboratory work designed to reinforce scientific understanding.

You will contribute to preparing students for GCSE Science examinations and support them in developing confidence in both written and practical assessments.

This role involves working closely with departmental colleagues to maintain consistent teaching standards and share planning resources.

• Deliver Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Teach core concepts across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

• Plan and supervise practical experiments safely

• Prepare students for GCSE Science examinations

• Monitor and record student progress

• Maintain safe laboratory environments

• Work collaboratively with Science department staff

• Promote positive behaviour and classroom engagement

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching Science at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4

• Strong classroom management skills

• Good organisational and communication skills

Desirable

• Science specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics

• Experience supporting GCSE Science preparation
