STEM Recruitment is currently seeking a Contract Lab Technician to join our client's team in Aberdeen, Scotland. This role focuses on supporting laboratory operations within a PCR and molecular biology environment, with an emphasis on testing and analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing PCR assays, preparing biological samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure are essential. * Experience working with PCR techniques * Background in Molecular Biology or similar * Ideally experience with automated extraction systems (preferably KingFisher systems) * Validation of RT-qPCR (BioRad System) * Previous laboratory experience is ESSENTIAL * Ability to follow protocols and documentation accurately * Strong organisational and communication skills In return, the position offers ongoing contract work, opportunities for professional development, and a collaborative working environment in a dynamic scientific setting.
