Description
Pre-Clinical Laboratory Scientist (In Vitro Biology / Toxicology) Location: Onsite (5 days/week) Hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:00pm Contract: Maternity cover (until end of September) Pay: £22.77 per hour (PAYE) Role Overview Support the delivery of pre-clinical studies, focusing on in vitro biology and toxicology, to assess product safety and support regulatory submissions. The role contributes to generating high-quality scientific data to underpin product development and safety claims. Key Responsibilities Conduct in vitro laboratory studies and generate data for reports and submissionsMaintain laboratory operations, equipment, and processes
Apply cell biology and toxicology techniques to assess product safety
Support study design, data analysis, and interpretation, including high-content screening
Ensure compliance with GLP, health & safety, and best practices
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and support scientific presentations
Contribute to development of new pre-clinical capabilities and methods
Assist with regulatory documentation, publications, and scientific reports Skills & Experience Essential Professional laboratory experience in a biological or biotech setting
Experience conducting in vitro studies
Knowledge of cell biology, toxicology, or pharmacology
Strong data analysis and scientific communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Degree in Biological Sciences or related field Desirable Experience developing cellular assays
Analytical chemistry background
Exposure to disease modelling or advanced toxicology Impact Supports pre-clinical evaluation and product development, contributing to safety assurance, regulatory compliance, and innovation
