An independent secondary school in Nottingham is seeking to appoint a Biology Teacher to join its Science department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that maintains high academic standards and encourages strong subject knowledge across all year groups.

About the RoleYou will teach Biology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering structured lessons that develop students’ understanding of biological processes and systems. Topics will include areas such as cell biology, ecology, human biology, and genetics.
Practical work forms an important element of the Biology curriculum, allowing students to develop investigative skills and apply theoretical knowledge in laboratory settings.
You will support students preparing for GCSE and A-Level Biology examinations, ensuring they develop the knowledge and skills required to achieve positive outcomes.
You will work collaboratively within the Science department to maintain consistent teaching standards and shared planning.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeach Biology across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver lessons covering key biological topics
Plan and supervise laboratory-based practical activities
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Biology examinations
Assess student work and provide structured feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Maintain safe laboratory environments
Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
