Research Associate in Cell biology
Do you have experience in cell biology? Are you passionate about research and interested in drug discovery? If so, we’d welcome an application from you.
Prof Michelle Garrett is looking for a Research Associate to undertake cell biology work supervised by her as part of a three year Medical Research Council (MRC) funded project entitled “Phosphoestamers: A new technology platform to block protein-protein interactions in the cell”. This project is a collaboration with Dr Christopher Serpell at University College London (UCL), that aims to use the novel phosphoestamer technology, which we have recently published on to develop inhibitors of protein-protein interaction (PPI) for three structurally distinct cancer drug targets (https://doi.org/10.1039/D4SC07218A).
As a Research Associate in Cell Biology you can expect to be involved in:
- Delivering the research objectives of the MRC grant entitled “Phosphoestamers: A new technology platform to block protein-protein interactions in the cell”.
- Organising and managing a programme of laboratory work with reference to the research project work-plan, deliverables and milestones, outlined in the grant.
- Carrying out the research as documented in the proposal, following a research plan agreed with the project principal investigator, in order to deliver the specific aims of the grant.
What will you bring to the role?
- PhD degree awarded/to be awarded in a relevant area of cell biology or related field.
- Extensive practical experience in cell biology
- Experience in summarising and presenting results
