Laboratory Technician – Temp to Perm
Location: Tewkesbury
Salary: £14.54 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Rotating shifts

RE Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly respected food production business in Tewkesbury who are looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician to join their Technical team on a temp to perm basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and an interest in science, quality control, or food production to develop their career within a supportive and professional laboratory environment.

Working as part of the Technical team, you will support the laboratory with sampling, testing and quality control to ensure products meet strict food safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out product sampling and microbiological testing

• Recording, analysing and interpreting results accurately

• Identifying any irregularities and escalating where required

• Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant laboratory environment

• Following all Health & Safety, COSHH and Food Safety regulations

This role operates on a 5-day rotating shift pattern Monday to Sunday (37.5 hours per week).

Weekday shifts rotate between:

• 03:00 – 11:00

• 05:30 – 13:30

• 06:00 – 14:00

• 07:00 – 15:00

• Midday – end of production

Additional shifts:

• Saturday: Rotational shifts (approx. one Saturday off per month)

• Sunday: 06:00 – 18:00 (approximately once every 6–8 weeks)

We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised and methodical, with strong communication skills and a passion for maintaining high standards.

Ideally you will have:

• GCSEs (Grade B or above) in Biology, Chemistry and Maths or a relevant science qualification

• Experience working in a laboratory, food production, or quality environment

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately

• Understanding of hygiene, safety and quality procedures

• £14.54 per hour
