- Higher Education Practical Laboratory Instructor

Are you passionate about science and supporting student learning in a hands-on environment? DN Colleges Group is looking for a dedicated HE Practical Laboratory Technician to join our Higher Education team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across our university campuses, supporting practical sessions in Bioscience, Biochemistry, Food Science, Animal Welfare, and Science Education.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining our laboratories, preparing materials, and delivering practical instruction to undergraduate students, helping to create a safe, engaging, and effective learning environment.
This role is cross sites (Doncaster and North Lindsey College)
Essential Criteria:
- Degree in a biology-related subject
- Experience working in a laboratory setting
- Understanding of teaching and supporting undergraduate students
- Ability to work safely and to tight deadlines
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical sessions
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety, and equipment storage
- Demonstrate techniques and support students during experiments
- Deliver practical teaching sessions and provide technical advice
- Maintain accurate records of student work and laboratory activities
- Support staff and students undertaking research
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
- Liaise with academic staff to plan and coordinate lab activities
- Participate in student engagement and induction activities
